Types of Coverage

1. Basic Coverage

Our Basic Coverage is included with every move at no additional cost. This coverage is based on the weight of the items and provides minimal reimbursement in the event of loss or damage.

  • Liability: $0.60 per pound per item
  • Example: If a 50-pound item is damaged, you will receive up to $30 as compensation.

2. Full Value Protection (FVP)

For more comprehensive coverage, we offer Full Value Protection. This option ensures that if any item is lost, damaged, or destroyed during the move, it will be repaired, replaced, or you will receive compensation for the current market value of the item.

  • Liability: Based on the declared value of the shipment
  • Cost: Variable, based on the declared value and deductible chosen
  • Example: If you declare your belongings at $10,000 and choose a $500 deductible, you will be covered for up to $10,000 with a $500 deductible applied in case of a claim.

3. Custom Insurance

For high-value or unique items, we offer Custom Insurance solutions. This tailored coverage is ideal for antiques, artwork, or other valuable possessions that require special consideration.

  • Liability: Based on item-specific appraisals and agreed value
  • Cost: Variable, based on appraisal and specific insurance terms
  • Example: An antique vase appraised at $5,000 can be insured specifically for its appraised value, ensuring complete protection.

Claims Process

In the unlikely event that you need to file a claim, our process is straightforward and designed to resolve issues swiftly.

Step-by-Step Guide:

  1. Report Damage: Notify our office immediately upon discovering any damage or loss. This must be done within 48 hours of delivery.
  2. Submit Claim Form: Complete and submit the official Gloria Movers Claim Form, which can be found on our website or provided by your moving coordinator.
  3. Documentation: Provide supporting documentation, including photographs of the damage, receipts, and any other relevant information to support your claim.
  4. Assessment: Our claims department will review your submission and may arrange an inspection if necessary.
  5. Resolution: We will provide a resolution offer within 30 days of receiving your complete claim form and supporting documents.

Exclusions and Limitations

While we strive to offer extensive coverage, certain items and situations are excluded from our insurance policy:

  • Excluded Items: Jewelry, cash, securities, and other non-declared high-value items.
  • Pre-existing Damage: Items with pre-existing damage are not covered.
  • Improper Packing: Items not packed by Gloria Movers or professional packers may not be covered.
  • Natural Disasters: Damage caused by natural disasters, such as floods, earthquakes, or hurricanes, is excluded.
  • Acts of War or Terrorism: Any loss or damage resulting from acts of war or terrorism is excluded.
